Hudson & Tatnall's Cemetery Records of Sussex County, Delaware. CD-WIN/MAC Cemetery records transcribed by Robert J. Redden. This listing was compiled from the State of Delaware, Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, microfilm reel #871-872, microfiche film RG9020 and limited field research. Millard Hudson compiled the Hudson Cemetery Records circa 1928. The Tatnall Tombstone Records were compiled by Walter Tatnall and purchased by the Delaware State Archives in the 1930s. In making his compilation of the two sets of records Mr. Redden has compared The Tatnall and Hudson records by individual names and when data conflicts he includes both sources. Tatnall records did not include Negro cemeteries. This alphabetical listing of the data gleaned from the tombstones is believed to contain all names appearing in the originals with the exception of Odd Fellows and Christ Church Cemeteries in Milford. These cemeteries are in Kent County and are enumerated in Dill’s Souls in Heaven, Names in Stone, Kent County Delaware Cemetery Records. The Hudson records were compared with the Dill book, and any name appearing in Hudson's records but not in Dill's were included. Additionally where significant differences were found they were noted.
