The notices were submitted from all over the South as well as Alabama where the newspaper was printed. The marriage notices include: the couple's names; date and location of their marriage; place of residence; the names of their parents; and often the names of presiding clergymen. Death notices include: place, date, and cause of the death, family names (including maiden names), date and place of birth and baptism, place of residence, church membership, and military account.
