New York Historical Society This volume contains an Orderly Book, or military diary, relating to three battalions of Loyalists raised for the defense of Long Island and commanded by General Oliver De Lancey. It is followed by a valuable list of 1,500 New York Loyalists (the adherents to the British Crown in the city of New York), compiled from contemporary manuscripts and newspapers covering the period 1776-1784 and alphabetically arranged. It should be noted that all three battalions disbanded in Nova Scotia. (1917) Reprint 2005. 147 pp. Index. ISBN 080635092X REVOLUTIONARY WAR: NEW YORK: LONG ISLAND
