|THE ALSACE EMIGRATION Book II|
An alphabetical listing of over 8,000 more emigrations chiefly from Upper and Lower Alsace, but also includes families who migrated through Alsace from Germany, Switzerland, and other countries. Includes only those emigrating to U.S. with permission from the authorities. The primary source of information is the Alsace emigration index, a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints microfilm card file archive. Other sources: never before published military conscription lists, Andreas Ganter’s collection, pass lists, and other private collections. Villages are listed showing their archival connection: archives in Strassburg and Colmar and German villages and towns mainly in Wuerttenberg, Baden, and the Palatinate. Covers primarily the first half of the 19th century. It is NOT a continuation of Vol. I.
